Are schools required to test and mitigate for radon?

Colorado statute requires all schools to test for radon and to maintain records of the test results for disclosure on request.The statute doesn’t require schools to mitigate, so it’s up to the school district and its constituents to address mitigation issues.

"Colorado law requires all schools and day cares to test for Radon exposure, but there is no requirement to fix the problem. State and federal laws also do not address how frequently schools should test.
While some schools have tested in recent years, some haven’t tested in decades.The EPA recommends Radon levels sit below 4 pCi/L. However, health experts warn that there is no safe level of Radon exposure."
